Confession of a busy Mom

Life in the Way
Sadly, I knew I wouldn't be the Mom that would keep up on her blog daily, weekly, and as proven - even monthly. I wish I was. I would love to have a daily post recording each day's accomplishments, no matter how big or small, and a picture that would represent life in those moments. I would love to document every milestone and "newness" of my children's lives. However, that just isn't me, and I must be okay with that - and always strive to be better. Our lives are truly filled to the rim, but that is just how we seem to like it. We love being involved in every aspect of our children's lives - which entails basketball games, soccer games, trips to the park, school projects, reading the bible together and having our famous movie nights. So, with all that said, I'll go through our latest milestones and events now...

Alexandria Rose
This week I began planning for Lexie's 2nd Birthday Party. Our close friend, Ginger, came by this morning to take her birthday photos - so thankful for talented friends! It truly amazes me that we are about to embark upon the "toddler" years - as the "baby" phase seemed to just flow by. Lexie has been a delight and joy in the lives of her family members, as she has learned to play dress up with Maddie, loves piggy back rides from her brother... and just can't wait to see her Daddy after school. Her vocabulary grows daily, as she'll repeat just about everything she hears. Her newest sentences are:
  1. Mom, c'mon! Hurry!
  2. I lub you
  3. Where Maddie go?
  4. I want milkie
  5. Watch Dora (or Elmo, Barney, or Mickey Mouse)
  6. No nighty! No nighty!

She now can sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and loves playing with her Little People toys, but most of all, loves her Dora and Boots little figurines and even has to sleep with them everynight. So glad I saved all of Maddie's old toys!

Maddie Sue
is now missing one of her top teeth and has another loose. Her little grin is just too cute and the lisp she now has will bring a smile to anyone's face. She began soccer last month and it took a couple games for her to figure out that she's not on the field to a. do her hair b. dance with her friends or c. smile and wave at Mom and Dad constantly. At letter b - Jon had to "gently" remind her to get her head in the game and that if the next game she kicked the ball he would get her an icee. Well, the next game - she proved that she wanted that icee! She kicked that ball from one end of the field to the next! Twice! She ran as fast as she could (and even beat some of the boys to the ball).

Just like his Papa - that explains Jake. He is all about learning the "business" side of things and enjoys organizing his desk, coming up with new inventions and creating contracts. Yesterday he spent the day with Papa and helped organize Papa's office and "do business" all day. Over the summer he played basketball and at one game, made the winning shot - a 3 pointer. He will start baseball at the end of this month, staying with his same coach/team. Jake got a speaking part in this years Christmas play and already has his lines memorized :).
