Jacob finished Baseball last Friday... it was a very bittersweet night for me. I have LOVED watching him grow into baseball. Jon started working with him when he was 2 and that hard work and consistency has just paid off. He is one of the stars of his team. The games were stressful on me sometimes because I didn't usually have the help of Jon with his schedule, but thankfully my Mom was in town and was able to help me. Lexie, my little independant child does not like to stay in one spot and a spot not determined by herself. So, that caused some stressful moments... I am sure other parents on the team looked at me as if I was crazy at moments. Jacob played his last game just brilliantly! He even made a double play!! He caught the ball (first out) and then threw to first base (second out). Dad, Nana and Papa were also there and we were cheering like crazy!! He also tagged another player and got another out during the game as well. All of his hits were amazing, but one he just cranked crazy like! It was a home run hit! So very proud of him. I have to work so hard at not sounding boastful when it comes to Jacob, but I am so very proud and again, just amazed that I could have a child as amazing as him.
MaddieI want to cry when I think of Maddie... her Kindergarten year is quickly coming to an end. In just 14 days - she graduates Kindergarten. I am so guilt ridden that I didn't once volunteer in
her room during the school year. With having Lexie and working, I just never quite made it work out. I wish I could re-do this year. Just a couple weeks ago, she had her Kindergarten Play - "The Little Piggy Opera" and was the "Mama Pig"... what a star! She knew all the words and moves and was one of the few kids that was excited and not scared at all! Do I see a future in this for her??? Jon gave her flowers for her amazing performance and that meant so
much to her. Maddie ADORES Lexie. ADORES. She can't wait to be a Mom one day. Just this evening she said to me that she can't wait until she has a baby in her belly and can care for her own. So cute. A couple weeks ago she said to me that she also couldn't wait until she got married. When I asked her why she said because she wanted a different last name..?? Come to find out that the kids call her Maddie Weenie. :) I had to smile. "And Mom, do you know what a weenie is? It's a hot dog. And hot dogs come from pigs." So sweet...Lexie learned to say "bow" yesterday! She pointed to her bow and said it! She loves wearing bows and actually hands me one each morning to put in. Two days ago she learned to say, "yeah" so any time I ask her a question she responds, "yeah" - I LOVE IT!! She also adores Maddie and just follows her around and wants to play in her room all the time. Maddie loves it! She thinks it's the greatest thing ever and plays make believe with her. I don't think Lexie has any idea what is going on, but loves the attention and she will learn to grow into playing make believe with her big sister. Lexie likes to color and draw - some of her victims have been my tv, couch, coffee table, etc. :) green crayon does come out of almost anything, though - I have learned...
This weekend we are going camping - pulling the camper out to the woods for a couple nights and we are going to just relax and enjoy each other. Thank God for my amazing kids and the blessing they are to our lives.
