Pearls of Wisdom

Since our precious Lexie Rose has accomplished one major milestone.. crawling.. her Daddy thought it was the perfect time to have her ears pierced. We went to the Mall on Friday and Daddy headed straight for The Piercing Pagoda (surprising Mom). We had been there many, many times before so I knew what earrings I wanted for our princess immediately! We chose little pearls with gold prongs for her - matching her big sisters pearls.

We watched as the Mom in front of us watched her 2 month baby get her ears pierced. The little baby was NOT happy and cried and cried before and after. Unfortunately her piercings were uneven (very noticeably) and baby was so upset. I stood there clutching Lexie to my chest watching all this, praying silently to myself, "God, I know this is something so little, but please be with Lexie and help her piercings to be even!" - I believe that God has time for our little requests, too :).

Lexie was up next. I was so thankful that I was able to hold her on my lap for this. It took the girl about 4-5 tries marking her ears with the marker because Lex kept moving! I was worried that she would move for the actual piercing as well. Finally, it was time. I held her close to me with one arm over her arms and the other holding her head against my chest. POP! First ear, done. She cried for about 3 seconds then stopped. I turned her head, and POP! Second ear done. She cried for about 7 seconds and then stopped, again. I placed her pacifier in her mouth and she was perfectly fine.

SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!
