Last Monday, July 28th, 2008 Madison Susanne started Kindergarten. That's right.. my little princess has begun a journey that will continue on until her early adults years. As we walked up to her room that first day, all she could do was smile the biggest, brightest smile. We walked into her room (all while I am as nervous and sad as can be) and put her new Hannah Montana backpack on it's hook, her Camp Rock lunchbox in the girls lunch bin and her High School Musical water bottle in the girls water bottle basket. Whoo.. and to think - she has to do that on her own everyday! We then proceeded to the front of the classroom where we placed her 2 filled grocery bags of school supplies on the ground.. they would soon be used to help educate these young scholars. A strange lady approaches... it must be the Teacher!"Hello Madison! I am Ms. Monico! Can I have a hug?"
The teacher gets down on her knees and give Maddie Sue the biggest hug! (Way to melt my heart!) Maddie, of course, just loved that!
She then led us to the place that Maddie would be calling her desk for the next 10 1/2 months. Her little name was written on the name tag taped on her desk - Maddie Wiens. Each "table" consisted of 4 desks pushed together and there were 2 boys and 2 girls at each table. The girl across from Maddie was a little girl I've know for years from Church, Morgan. Maddie hugged me and said, "Bye, Mom".
WAIT! Really? No tears? No "Mom, don't leave me"? Not that I wanted her to have seperation anxiety, but a little sign of missing me would have been nice....
Nope, she was perfectly fine! She sat at her desk and began her morning work (coloring).

Three more years until Caleb embarks on this adventure...I will consult your for sympahty when the time arrives! So glad Maddie loved it and was excited to go!!
